GE Dishwasher Spray Mechanism (WD26X10053)

The GE Dishwasher Spray Mechanism distributes water throughout the dishwasher tub during the wash and rinse cycles by rotating and directing pressurized water through its spray arms. It works by receiving water from the pump and spinning to throw jets of water across the dishes, reaching both the upper and lower racks for thorough cleaning. The GE Dishwasher Spray Mechanism can wear out over time due to mineral buildup from hard water, cracked or clogged spray arm holes, or damage from broken glass and debris that enters the wash area. A failed or partially blocked mechanism can leave dishes dirty, prevent proper water distribution, or cause the spray arm to stop rotating altogether. Watch for these symptoms to help determine if the spray mechanism needs to be replaced: - Dishes come out dirty, spotty, or with food residue after a full cycle - Spray arm does not spin or rotates unevenly during the wash cycle - Visible cracks, chips, or broken sections on the spray arm or housing - Clogged spray holes that cannot be cleared by cleaning alone - Poor rinsing performance on the upper or lower rack - Unusual noise coming from the spray area during washing - Water not reaching all areas of the dishwasher tub evenly
