GE Oven Bake Unit (WB44X190)

The GE Oven Bake Unit is the lower heating element in your electric range or oven that provides the primary heat source for baking and roasting. It works by drawing electrical current through a metal coil, which heats up and radiates heat throughout the oven cavity to cook food evenly from below. A GE oven bake unit can fail from normal wear over time, exposure to high heat cycles, food spills that cause hot spots or corrosion, or physical damage from contact during use. When the element burns out or develops a break, the oven will lose its ability to maintain proper baking temperatures or may stop heating altogether. These symptoms can help you decide if a failed bake unit matches your problem: - Oven does not heat up at all when set to bake - Food is undercooked or takes much longer than expected to bake - Visible burn marks, blisters, or breaks on the heating element - Element glows unevenly or only heats in certain spots - Oven trips the circuit breaker when the bake function is used - Sparking or popping sounds coming from the lower element
