The GE Electric Bake Element is the lower heating component inside your electric range that provides the heat needed for baking and roasting. It receives electrical current and converts it into radiant heat, warming the oven cavity from the bottom to cook food evenly. Most baking cycles rely on this element as the primary heat source throughout the cooking process. The GE Electric Bake Element can fail from normal wear over time, exposure to food spills or grease that cause hot spots, or physical damage from items contacting the element inside the oven.
