GE Gas Range Electric Thermostat (WB24X24270)

The GE Gas Range Electric Thermostat regulates the oven temperature by monitoring heat levels and signaling the burner to cycle on and off to maintain your target setting. It acts as the control link between the temperature sensor and the gas valve, allowing the oven to hold a steady, accurate temperature throughout cooking. Without a properly functioning thermostat, the oven cannot reliably reach or maintain the temperature you set. The GE Gas Range Electric Thermostat can fail due to normal wear over time, exposure to high heat cycles, or internal electrical faults that cause it to misread temperatures or lose the ability to signal the burner correctly. Corrosion on contacts, a broken sensing element, or simple age-related degradation are common causes that lead to erratic oven behavior. Watch for these symptoms to help determine if the electric thermostat may need to be replaced: - Oven temperature runs consistently hotter or cooler than the set temperature - Food burns or undercooks even when following normal recipes and settings - Oven takes much longer than usual to preheat or never reaches the set temperature - Oven burner cycles on and off too frequently or not at all - Oven shuts off on its own before cooking is complete - Error code related to temperature sensing appears on the control panel
