GE Range Burner Control Switch (WB24T10145)

The GE Range Burner Control Switch regulates the amount of power delivered to the surface heating element on your electric range, allowing you to select and maintain the correct heat level for cooking. It works by rotating through a series of electrical contacts that cycle power on and off to the burner, giving you control from low simmer to high heat. The GE Range Burner Control Switch can wear out over time due to repeated use, heat exposure, or electrical arcing across the internal contacts. Corrosion, melted components, or a broken cam mechanism inside the switch can cause it to lose its ability to hold a setting or deliver consistent power to the burner. These symptoms can help you decide if a burner control switch is the source of your range problem: - Burner does not heat up at any setting - Burner stays on full heat regardless of the dial position - Burner only works at certain heat settings and not others - Dial turns but feels loose, stiff, or does not click into position - Burner cycles on and off erratically or will not stay at a steady temperature - Burning smell or scorch marks visible around the control switch area - Range trips a breaker or blows a fuse when a specific burner is used
