GE Range Igniter Glowbar (WB13K10030)

The GE Range Igniter Glowbar is the heating element that lights the oven burner in your gas range or dual fuel range by glowing hot enough to ignite the gas as it flows through the burner. It also acts as a safety device, signaling the gas valve to open only when it has reached the correct temperature, which helps prevent unburned gas from entering the oven. Without a functioning igniter, the oven burner will not light and the oven cannot heat. The GE Range Igniter Glowbar can weaken or fail over time due to normal wear from repeated heating and cooling cycles, exposure to grease and moisture, or physical cracking from thermal stress. A weakened igniter may still glow but draw too little current to fully open the gas valve, causing slow ignition or no ignition at all even when the element appears to be working. These symptoms can help you decide if a faulty igniter matches the problem you are seeing in your range: - Oven burner takes a long time to ignite or fails to light at all - Igniter glows but the oven never reaches temperature - Smell of gas near the oven without the burner lighting - Igniter is visibly cracked, broken, or damaged - Oven shuts off shortly after starting and will not stay lit - Oven heats unevenly or takes much longer than normal to preheat
