GE Gas Range Igniter (WB13K10024)

The GE Gas Range Igniter is the component that lights the oven burner each time you start a bake or broil cycle. It works by drawing electrical current until it glows hot enough to open the gas valve and ignite the burner, allowing the oven to reach and hold your set temperature. A GE gas range igniter can weaken or fail over time as the igniter element degrades from repeated heating and cooling cycles. When the igniter draws too little current to fully open the gas valve, the oven may take much longer to light, fail to ignite at all, or cycle on and off unpredictably during cooking. These symptoms can help you decide if a faulty igniter matches your problem: - Oven takes more than 90 seconds to light after being turned on - Oven burner does not ignite at all but the igniter glows orange or red - Igniter glows very faintly or not at all when the oven is set - Oven shuts off shortly after lighting and will not stay on - Smell of gas before the burner ignites, indicating a slow or weak light - Oven temperature is inconsistent or lower than the set temperature - Visible cracks, breaks, or damage on the igniter element
