Washout Sashiko with Crests - Navy

This unique cloth has four washout sashiko stitching patterns in long sections (with the grain) as well as traditional Japanese crests.  The crest patterns do not wash out, but the sashiko patterns wash away in a regular wash cycle. Embroider the crests and sashiko to make your own unique fabric. Any sashiko area that is not embroidered will washout to a navy blue solid, other than the crests).  Base fabric is a smooth, medium-weight navy blue broadcloth and is 46" wide. The crests measure 4.75"x4.75" This navy fabric is perfect for home sewing projects, like just about anything in our 305 A Japanese Interior, but also perfect for making a kimono (113 Japanese Kimono) or 129 Japanese Hapi and Haori, or 112 Japanese Field Clothing.  Add sashiko thread and needles to complete your project. Fabric is sold by the 1/2 yard (so one unit equals 1/2 yard, 2 units equal 1 yard, etc.).  Each 1/2 yard contains 3 crests on each side (so 6 crests altogether).  We will not cut into a crest, so you may get a few extra inches if a crest falls near a cut line.
