Capital Chocolate Caramels

Chocolate coated. Salt flecked. Chouquette began with Sarah Dwyer’s lifelong pull toward chocolate, from childhood gingerbread-house sessions with her mother to launching her own confections in 2010. She still builds the line around slow-cooked small-batch caramel, real ingredient infusions, and artwork developed in-house. These vanilla bean caramels tuck a chewy center and fleur de sel crystals inside a milk or dark chocolate shell, with assorted Washington D.C. designs that make them feel equal parts candy and keepsake. Sweet, salty, and just rich enough, they disappear one by one until someone is left holding an empty box and looking mildly betrayed.
