Warlord

Author: Patrick Catlett ISBN 978-1-63868-237-0 (softcover) 212 pages Once he was feared. Once he was revered. Now he hides, because some legends are too painful to remember. Found abandoned as an infant and raised by a people not his own, Aldren grows into a figure of overwhelming strength and unmatched martial skills. A champion in the tribal games and a prodigy with the battle-axe, Aldren believes destiny itself bends to his will. And with every victory, his name spreads like a warning. As tribal rivalries flare into open conflict and war beckons beyond the Jreshem Fields, Aldren is thrust into a world where glory carries a brutal cost. Love beckons him, but even affection bends beneath the weight of blood and ambition. Each triumph hardens him. Each battle awakens something darker, something ruthless. Legends are not born—they are carved into the world with steel and sacrifice. Told through the recollections of an aged warrior haunted by his past, Warlord is a brutal epic of pride, love, loyalty and devastating loss. It is not the tale of a hero—but how a warlord was made, and what it cost to become one.
