Super Strength Walnut FlavoringA typical 5-6 gallon batch uses 1-2 drams (0.125-0.25 oz), depending on the flavor and desired intensity. Add the flavor during kegging or bottling, starting with the lower amount and adjusting gradually to taste. Mix gently and sample before treating the entire batch. Flavor Profile and Beverage IdeasWalnut brings earthy roasted-nut flavor with a dry, slightly tannic finish. Use it in brown ale, porter, stout, old ale, traditional mead, or dessert wine. It works best in malt-forward beverages where the nut character can settle into toast and caramel notes. Maple, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, apple, and dark cherry provide balance.
