Birdseye maple brings a rare, luminous figuring — small, swirling eyes of grain that catch the light in a way no other wood quite does. Walnut adds depth and contrast with its rich, dark tones. Together they make a cutting board that's as much a kitchen centerpiece as it is a workhorse. Birdseye maple is a dense, closed-grain hardwood, meaning the pores are exceptionally small — keeping bacteria out and standing up to daily use without dulling your knives. Every board is handcrafted in our small Florida workshop, sanded smooth, and finished with a food-grade blend of mineral oil, carnauba wax, and beeswax.
