Waldorf Protein 8-Voice Desktop Wavetable Synthesizer CONTROLLER RIG

Waldorf Protein is a compact and affordable 8-voice polyphonic wavetable synthesizer based on the original Waldorf Microwave ASIC oscillators and enhanced with modern features derived from Waldorf Iridium, like its sophisticated arpeggiator, step sequencer, chord mode, effects and more. Two oscillators based on unique Waldorf Microwave ASIC chips Includes all Waldorf Microwave wavetables, based on original coding and bit-identical Modeling of digital-to-analog converters for each voice Faithful modeling of Microwave CEM analog filters Adjustable de-calibration of cutoff and resonance to model detuned hardware 3 envelopes, 2 LFOs and 8-slot mod matrix Advanced arpeggiator and 32-step sequencer Chord and scale modes Supports polyphonic aftertouch and MPE   Waldorf Music recreated the original gritty and beautifully 8-bit quantized and aliased sound of the Microwave 1 ASIC oscillators running at 250 kHz sample rate, just like the original. Users will experience this digital vintage sound charm in Protein complete with all its characteristic artifacts, particularly in the lower and higher octaves. Protein's eight voices can be organized into up to four layers, allowing for complex layered arrangements, surprising round robin modes or simple splits/allocations across different MIDI channels for polytimbral operation. With the Load Layer feature, new sonic arrangements can be created in seconds by simply recombining existing layers from Protein's extensive preset collection. Each layer features an eight-slot modulation matrix, offering a multitude of modulation possibilities for shaping your sounds. Protein also supports polyphonic aftertouch modulation, allowing musical expression to be rendered in manifold ways. A mysterious Flavour knob adds an extra layer of organic behavior ranging from tiny micro-fluctuations to sweet disturbances to keep digital sound lively. This small-but-powerful machine comes with a versatile set of 150 factory presets and can store up to 250 user presets. Using Protein's four-layer concept, users can mix and match from the existing library and create new combinations with the intuitive Load Layer feature. Besides being affordable, Protein is also ready to transport musicians and sound experimenters into new and deep sonic territories. Its compact design and portable form factor ensure it can be taken anywhere from studio to stage, giving users the opportunity to be creative wherever inspiration strikes.
