WAITS FOR NO ONE

WAITS FOR NO ONE Angela Frances Magazine paper 10 x 13.5 inches 2023 About Angela Frances: Angela Frances, originally from Austin, Texas, has called New York City home since 2009. Her work is a bold exploration of feminism, sexuality, and power dynamics, informed by her belief in true equality between the sexes—a balance society has yet to achieve. She examines the persistent social and economic advantages held by men while acknowledging the unique sexual power women can wield over straight men, should they choose to embrace it. Angela’s art delves into the vulnerabilities exposed when sexuality enters the equation, often turning societal norms on their head with provocative intent. Her creative process invites viewers to form their own interpretations, valuing the diverse meanings her work evokes over prescriptive explanations. Infused with femininity, sensuality, and unapologetic emotion, her pieces often explore the intersection of love, admiration, and power. Angela relishes the idea of her art challenging traditional notions of masculinity, subverting them in ways that might even “make boys cry,” a playful nod to the emotional impact her work seeks to achieve. With a rich background spanning marketing, sales, modeling, and entertainment, Angela’s art is deeply personal, offering an intimate portrait of her journey through love, work, and self-discovery. She works out of her studio in DUMBO, Brooklyn, and her art has been showcased in elite galleries and private events in Miami, New Orleans, and throughout New York City. Through her work, Angela celebrates the complexity and potency of femininity, pushing boundaries and creating space for dialogue about gender and power.
