Whirlpool Gas Stove Knob (W11517334)

The Whirlpool Gas Stove Knob turns the surface burner control shaft to adjust the gas valve from OFF to IGNITE and through the heat settings. It provides the grip and index marking used to select and repeat a flame level during cooking. Common failures include cracking from heat exposure, a stripped or rounded internal insert that no longer grips the control shaft, or wear that causes a loose fit. Damage can also happen if the knob is forced, cleaned with harsh chemicals, or impacted during use, which can affect how accurately it sets the burner level. If your burner control is not working as expected, these symptoms can indicate the knob is the cause: - Knob spins freely without changing the flame level - Knob feels loose, wobbles, or will not stay aligned on the shaft - Knob will not turn smoothly, binds, or requires extra force to rotate - Heat setting does not match the pointer position or printed markings - Knob is cracked, chipped, melted, or missing - Knob will not seat fully or keeps slipping off the control shaft
