Whirlpool Basket Assembly White (W10389328)

The Whirlpool Basket Assembly White is the wash basket that holds laundry inside the washer during the wash and spin cycles. It rotates with the drive system to move clothes through water and detergent, then spins to extract water. The basket includes mounting points and surfaces that work with the tub, suspension, and balance components to keep the load contained while the washer operates. Basket assemblies can fail from repeated out-of-balance loads, overloading, worn mounting areas, corrosion, or impact from hard items left in pockets. Damage can also occur if the basket becomes misaligned due to suspension wear, leading to contact with the outer tub. Over time, cracks, deformation, or wear at attachment points can cause noise, vibration, or rubbing during operation. Common signs that point to a basket assembly issue include: Loud banging or thumping during spin that persists after load redistribution Grinding, scraping, or rubbing sounds as the washer spins Visible cracks, dents, or warped areas on the basket The basket sits unevenly or appears off-center inside the tub Clothes snagging on sharp edges or rough spots inside the basket Metal shavings, rust flakes, or debris found in the tub Repeated out-of-balance errors or excessive vibration during spin
