JUNIPERUS VIRGINIANA-Eastern Red Cedar

Category:Shrub Breeder:American Beauties Native Plants Hardiness Zone:2-9 Height:30-65 ft Spread:8-20 ft Bloom Color:Green Shades To many people this is just another native evergreen that is seen but not recognized for the great look and great critters it brings to the landscape. This upright growing evergreen may be about the easiest plant in the world to grow, tolerating a wide range of soils, even the poorest ones, while looking very content. Plant this as a specimen or as a tall growing hedge or border and watch how native birds come flocking to nest in its branches and to pluck the occasional berry the plant produces. Certain butterflies even use this plant as a caterpillar food source bringing even more landscape color to your home.
