HEMEROCALLIS `HYPERION` - YELLOW-Daylily

Hemerocallis Hyperion-Yellow Hyperion Daylily »  4" clear yellow flowers with pale lime throats »  Grows easily in well-drained soil »  Heat and humidity tolerant Category:Perennial Hardiness Zone:3-8 Height:36-40 in Spread:20-30 in Bloom Color:Yellow Shades Although an antique in the hermerocallis world (introduced in 1925) this clear yellow flower remains unsurpassed in its color class and is still one of the standard varieties used by gardeners everywhere. Its 4" yellow flowers that bloom in July and August are accented with a pale lime throat and have a sweet fragrance that is lost in most modern hybrids. Easily grown in well-drained soils in full sun to part shade, it is an aggressive enough grower to quickly crowd out weeds if planted in groups, making it a carefree and colorful groundcover. Tolerant of heat and humidity, 'Hyperion' will still appreciate occasional deep watering during dry spells to keep the foliage an attractive back drop for its numerous stems of bloom.
