VPI Industries Avenger Reference Turnable

VPI Avenger Reference Turnable The final and polished for of the VPI Avenger Reference.  This model went through an evolution with the creation of our top-of-the-line Titan turntable using the same concept of the rim drive motor assembly driving the magnetic platter.  The magnets are machined into the platter at the center and do not interfere with the owner’s cartridge.  Our methodology is the ultimate vibration filter for a high-end system.   The VPI Avenger chassis is three layers of bonded acrylic/aluminum/acrylic, with damping material between layers, locked in by 3 isolation steel corner posts, 3 bolts, and the massive bearing assembly.  The corner posts which hold the tonearms (up to three will fit) have adjustable machined knobs giving the user the ability to easily raise and lower the height to level the table.  The corner posts connect to the cone stabilizers which sit in a machined Delrin/ball bearing isolation base reminiscent of the same used on the Prime turntable.  Fully adjustable arm boards are made from 5/5” 6061 aluminum for rigidity and grounding. The table can mount up to three arms, any manufacturer's brand, and any length!     VPI Fatboy Gimbal 12-3D Bearing Type: Full Gimbal Bearing Pivot to spindle: 300 mm Internal Wire: Nordost Reference Wire Effective length: 313.0 mm Effective mass: 12.5g. There are some “extreme” turntable designs which seem to be more exercises in high tech than practical units. Don’t get me wrong, some much higher ne plus ultra competitors are superb, but some aren’t. I’d wanted to be sure I could hear real differences—if any—before I paid more and not simply judge by the price tag. I’d also wanted to ensure what I bought was built to last. You can always pay more, but getting more over time can be a different thing." - Anthony Cordesman   AVAILABLE UPGRADES Additional Tonearms Additional Arm boards for third-party arms Pneumatic Air Suspension feet     SPECIFICATIONS Chassis Composition Aluminum and machined acrylic Platter Type & Size 12" Aluminum Platter, 25LBS Tonearm Included Fatboy Gimbal 12-3D Motor 300 RPM, 24 pole, AC synchronous motor Wow and flutter .03% Speed Accuracy .04% Rumble 82db down Footprint 23" x 20" Overall Size 27" x 23" x 13" Total Weight 85 lbs
