Vortec Cooling Vests

Workers in extreme temperatures wear Vortec Cooling Vests (VCVs) to minimize heat stress and fatigue while improving comfort and productivity. Cold air circulates through the Cooling Vest to distribute even cooling over the upper body. Overview: Vortec cooling vests have two components: A cooling tube that generates cold air to provide air flow to the worker A perforated cooling vest through which the cold air flows to cool the worker’s torso VCVs are available in two cooling capacities; 1500 BTUh and 2500 BTUh. All models can achieve temperature differentials of +/- 45 to 60 °F from the inlet compressed air temperature using vortex tube technology. These models are adjustable by the worker using an integral temperature adjustment knob. The perforated air vests are available in three sizes: Large, X-Large, and XX-Large which supplies cooled air continuously through its perforated inner lining. The durable vest allows a full range of motion with no airflow restrictions, and does not absorb sweat or other contaminants. Body cooling vests can also be worn under other protective clothing. How It Works: Vortec Cooling Tubes use filtered compressed air and vortex tube technology to generate cold air used for personal cooling applications. Inside the cooling tube, a vortex tube spins the supplied compressed air, separating it into hot and cold air streams. The cold air is delivered to the Cooling Vest via a ducting tube, while the hot air exits out the other end of the PAC through a hot end muffler. Inside the vest, the cold air is circulated via the perforated lining of the vest, providing a cooling effect to the wearer of the vest and tube. The distributed air temperature differential is +/- 60°F (33°C) from the compressed air inlet temperature.
