Volume I From Creation to Babel (pkg download)

Volume I of "The Biblical Timeline Series" is titled "From Creation to Babel" and is a comprehensive, Bible-based curriculum designed specifically for multi-age Christian homeschool families. The material is designed for parents to read and discuss Scripture with their children together before assigning tailored, age-appropriate activities. Scope and Pacing The volume covers the events of Genesis 1 through 11 and is structured around a 5-week standard plan, though it also includes pacing options for 1-week intensive or 2-week accelerated schedules. The weekly breakdown is as follows: Week 1 — Creation (Genesis 1–2): Focuses on God establishing order, the creation of humanity in the "image of God," and the institution of the Sabbath. Week 2 — The Fall (Genesis 3): Explores the serpent's temptation, Adam and Eve's disobedience, and God's mercy in delivering the first promise of a Savior, known as the Protoevangelium. Week 3 — Cain and Abel (Genesis 4): Covers the contrast between the brothers' offerings, God's warning that "sin is crouching at your door," and the consequences of jealousy and rebellion. Week 4 — The Flood (Genesis 6–9): Examines the global flood, Noah's faithful obedience in building the ark, and God's rainbow covenant. Week 5 — Tower of Babel (Genesis 11): Concludes with humanity's prideful attempt to build a tower to make a name for themselves, resulting in God confusing their languages and scattering the nations. Student Activities and Difficulty Levels To accommodate a multi-age household, the curriculum divides its word challenges, puzzles, and writing assignments into four distinct difficulty tiers: Level A (Ages 6–8): Focuses on drawing pictures to explain concepts and simple word searches. Level B (Ages 9–11): Requires students to write one-sentence explanations and tackle slightly more complex puzzles. Level C (Ages 12–14): Asks for short written explanations of theological phrases and deeper story analysis. Level D (High School Challenge, Ages 14+): Challenges older students to write well-developed paragraphs and comparative essays, such as comparing the Tower of Babel to the events of Pentecost in Acts 2, or examining Noah's ark as a picture of salvation using New Testament passages. Interactive Features The volume features a highly interactive "Activities Book" alongside the "Teacher Guide." This includes core Bible reading discussions, memory verse checks, map activities where students label historical locations like the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and coloring pages for visual reinforcement. It also incorporates creative exercises like an Ark Engineering Puzzle (where students calculate the mathematical dimensions of the ark in feet), a Tower of Babel Language Puzzle (a symbol-decoding game), and a Noah's Ark Animal Sorting Game.
