Volume 1 (CD)

Volume 1, the debut release from indie-rock collective BNQT (pronounced “banquet”)—conceived and organized by Eric Pulido of Midlake, comprised of frontmen Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses), Jason Lytle (Granddaddy), Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand), and Fran Healy (Travis)—on CD. “…the collection unfurls a succession of sugared, shimmering, time-swept confections seemingly torn from an alternate-universe ‘70s AM playlist.” — Paste Magazine “High points include Lytle’s impossibly lovely ‘Failing at Feeling,’ which conjures John Lennon’s ‘#9 Dream;’ ‘Restart,’ whose glam-rock crunch is reached via Tame Impala’s ‘Elephant;’ the arch stylings of Kapranos on ‘Hey Banana;’ and ‘Real Love,’ a gorgeous cascade of harmonies and trumpets.” — The Guardian
