Volans Anejo Tequila

A refined and expressive añejo tequila that marries rich, aged agave character with sophisticated oak influence and nuanced spice. Volans Añejo offers depth and balance rarely found in its category — smooth and layered enough for contemplative sipping, yet versatile enough for premium cocktails. Origins & Craftsmanship Crafted in Jalisco, Mexico, Volans Añejo Tequila begins with 100% mature blue Weber agave, harvested by hand at peak ripeness. Each piña is slow-cooked to convert natural sugars, then fermented and double-distilled to preserve agave purity and aromatic clarity. The spirit is then aged in oak barrels — often previously seasoned with other fine spirits — which imparts complexity without overpowering the core agave profile. This extended maturation softens the raw edges of young distillate and allows layers of vanilla, caramel, and spice to harmonize with the natural sweetness and herbal tones of the agave. The result is an añejo that strikes a compelling balance: rich and structured yet beautifully poised, with enough oak influence to elevate the profile without diminishing the signature agave heart. Critics Reviews & Scores Volans Añejo has earned strong acclaim from professional spirits reviewers and tequila experts for its craftsmanship and flavor complexity: High Rated by Tasting Panels (92–95 points) — Reviewers often praise its balanced integration of oak and agave notes, noting that it delivers elegance alongside depth. Barrel Maturation & Complexity Applauded — Critics highlight how the oak aging enhances the tequila’s texture and aromatic richness, adding layers of vanilla, dried fruit, and spice while preserving the agave character at the core. Excellent Sipper in Premium Category — Experts describe it as smooth, refined, and age-worthy, emphasizing that it competes with — and in some cases surpasses — many high-end añejos in the same class. Across reviews, the consensus points to Volans Añejo as a standout expression that appeals both to traditional tequila connoisseurs and to those seeking a premium sipping experience. Tasting Profile Nose: Inviting and layered, with sweet agave nectar, honeyed vanilla, and toasted oak leading. Subtle notes of butterscotch, dried apricot, and baking spice (nutmeg, cinnamon) emerge with gentle air. Palate: Velvety and well-structured, opening with caramel, brown sugar, and rich agave, followed by oak spice, vanilla bean, and a hint of citrus zest. A nuanced herbal layer — thyme and light citrus peel — complements the sweetness without overpowering. Finish: Long and satisfying, with lingering oak warmth, gentle pepper spice, and soft fruit echoes — elegantly balanced and smooth without harsh bite.
