Vitamin E T-50 – Mixed Tocopherols

Vitamin E T-50 – Mixed Tocopherols A versatile antioxidant for handcrafted skincare, bath, body, and oil-based formulations, our Vitamin E T-50 is a mixed tocopherol ingredient commonly used to help protect oils and finished products from oxidation while adding the benefits of vitamin E to your formulation. T-50 is especially useful in products containing oils and butters that are prone to oxidation. It can help support formula stability and slow the development of rancid odors caused by oxidation, making it a valuable addition to everything from body oils and balms to lotions, soaps, and hair care products. Unlike a preservative, Vitamin E T-50 is an antioxidant. It helps protect the oils in your formulation but does not provide protection against bacteria, yeast, or mold in water-containing products. Why Makers Love It Mixed tocopherol Vitamin E Helps protect oils from oxidation Supports longer-lasting product quality Excellent addition to oil-based formulations Easy to incorporate into many bath and body products Useful in both leave-on and rinse-off formulations A little goes a long way Popular Uses Vitamin E T-50 works well in: Body oils Facial oils and serums Lotions and creams Body butters Balms and salves Lip balms Massage oils Scrubs Hair and scalp oils Beard oils Conditioners Soap formulations Oil-based cosmetic products Suggested Usage Typical usage levels vary by formulation, but Vitamin E T-50 is generally used at a low percentage of the total formula. Always follow your specific formulation and perform appropriate testing when developing a finished product. Maker Tip Add Vitamin E T-50 during the cool-down phase whenever possible, particularly in emulsions or formulations that have been heated. This helps minimize unnecessary exposure to prolonged high temperatures. And remember: Vitamin E is an antioxidant, not a preservative. If your formula contains water, aloe, hydrosols, or other water-based ingredients, you will typically still need an appropriate broad-spectrum preservative.
