Violent Youth "Na Igle" LP

Na Igle is the fifth album by The Violent Youth, a post-punk/new wave duo originally from Belarus and now based in Germany. Led by multi-instrumentalist and visual artist Arthur Tsymbal, the band delivers a unique gothic synth sound with lyrics entirely in Russian. The album showcases a blend of '80s-inspired synth harmonies and sharp, pounding beats, creating a rich and dynamic texture that resonates with listeners. Na Igle opens with "20s," featuring simple synth chords framing infectious vocals, setting the tone for the album's exploration of post-punk and synthpop elements. Tracks like "Prah" stand out with their driving rhythms and haunting, futurepop-like choruses, while "Serdtse" experiments with frantic synth effects, adding a layer of complexity to the listening experience. The album concludes with "Odinochestvo," an almost eight-minute track that gradually builds a rich and dynamic texture, climaxing before fading into a contemplative silence, leaving a lasting impression.
