c. 1920s-1940s; Eclipse Fuel Engineering Co. - Rockford, IL Large industrial wooden foundry core box pattern attributed to Eclipse Fuel Engineering Company, likely produced for casting an internal turbine, burner, or swirl-chamber component used in industrial combustion equipment. The heavy timber framework houses a precision-machined circular core form with a series of twisted radial vanes engineered to impart rotational airflow within the finished casting. The pattern retains numerous layout marks, handwritten reference letters, production notations, and the handwritten designation "ECLIPSE #7160" along the underside, offering a direct connection to its original manufacturing application. Beyond its function as a foundry tool, the dramatic spiral geometry creates a striking sculptural form representative of early twentieth-century industrial engineering. Appears to be in good overall condition consistent with decades of industrial use and storage. Exhibits surface wear, scratches, age-related discoloration, production markings, and handling wear throughout the wooden framework. The machined pattern surfaces display scattered minor chips, edge losses, and areas of finish wear, including an observable loss along one vane edge. Handwritten layout letters, measurements, and shop notations remain visible throughout and enhance the authenticity of this industrial artifact. 20.75" L x 5.75" W x 24.75" H MM - C-21512 - 062426 For information regarding shipping, please visit our Terms & Conditions page here.
