Vintage Oak Double-Stack Flat File by K&E

c. 1930s-1940s; Keuffel and Esser Co. - Hoboken, NJ Substantial quartersawn oak flat file cabinet originally produced for the organized storage of engineering drawings, blueprints, maps, architectural plans, and technical documents. The cabinet features ten full-width shallow drawers fitted with original wooden half-round pulls and cast metal label holders, allowing contents to be cataloged and retrieved efficiently. Several drawers retain interior dividers, creating separate compartments for organizing smaller materials and reference documents. Rich oak grain is visible throughout the case, with paneled sides and a warm, time-earned finish that highlights decades of professional use. Mounted on later hairpin legs, the cabinet has been adapted for contemporary use while retaining its utilitarian industrial character and impressive storage capacity. Shows moderate to heavy wear consistent with long-term professional use including scratches, scuffs, finish wear, edge wear, surface abrasions, scattered staining, and age-related patina throughout. Drawer interiors show expected wear from decades of storage use. Original pulls and label holders remain present. Overall presents well with strong industrial character and functional drawer operation. 46" W x 34.5" D x 33.5" H Drawers (x10): 43" W x 32" D x 2" H MM - 6603 - 121223 MM - 061526   This piece will need to ship via freight.
