Vintage Nambu Tekki Ashtray with Embossed Japanese Script

Vintage Japanese cast iron ashtray. Nambu tekki, or Nambu iron, is a traditional Japanese craft created from cast iron in the Nambu region of Japan, more specifically Morioka City in Iwate Prefecture. It is noted for its high durability and intricate designs, among the other standard cast iron properties. This piece features embossed Japanese script that we were unable to translate and two sets of four slots for holding cigarettes.
