Vintage French Canning Bottle

An old French glass preserving bottle with its original hinged closure and crisp pale green cast.  Once purely practical, it is exactly the sort of everyday object I love finding at the markets. I use these on the table for water or lemonade, filled with a few garden stems, or simply grouped with old glass and silver.  Useful, imperfect and still very at home on a table.
