Vintage African Teal Throw

A rare regional variation of West African indigo, featuring saturated teal-green hues and hand-stitched details. This vintage textile originates from Burkina Faso, representing a specialized regional departure from traditional deep-navy indigo through its saturated, jewel-toned teal hues. Composed of hand-spun organic cotton loomed in narrow strips and joined with traditional top-stitching, each piece carries a heavy lived-in history. Please note that as a genuine vintage artifact, this cloth is not new and features honest markers of its previous life including visible rips, open seams, frayed edges, and historic mineral staining.  In today's home, this Vintage throw is perfect for an Organic Modern or Wabi-Sabi interior; designers frequently use them as weighted textiles as tactile throws to soften the lines of a contemporary sofa or as large-scale wall art to highlight the intricate hand-stitched joinery. As a vintage piece, this throw has been loved and cherished for decades, and its unique journey is reflected in blemishes or slight imperfections, adding to its authentic charm and story.  • *Era: Vintage  • *Dimensions: 43“(L) x 70"(W)  • *Material: 100% Hand-Spun Organic Cotton.  • *Color: Teal/Off White  • *Technique: Hand-loomed strips with regional teal botanical dye.  • *Origin: Burkina Faso, West Africa.  • *Condition: Vintage / Distressed.
