c. 1940s; Replogle Globes, Inc. - Chicago, IL Mid-century globe lamp made up of twelve chromolithographed paper gores laid on glass, printed tin hour dial and moulded brass meridian half circle atop a circular brass base. Unlike other Replogle globes in our collection, this one features a more modern look with brightly colored countries and blue oceans. This piece was manufactured by Replogle, the largest globe manufacturer in the world. Due to it being from the 1940s, certain country names are (by current naming conventions) incorrect or omitted, such as "Yugoslavia" and "Rumania" and a lack of Pakistan. As stated on the globe, this particular map was designed and edited by Gustav Brueckmann, Replogle's first cartographer who was with the company for 33 years. Exhibits minor signs of wear, such as spots in the litho and a tarnished base, but is is overall good condition. 13" W x 12" D x 16" H Please refer to photos regarding condition.
