Vintage Scandinavian Textile 5'5" x 2'6"

Size: 5.5 x 2.6 Ft Origin: Scandinavia  Circa: 1960s Material: Pure Wool This vibrant vintage Scandinavian handwoven textile features a striking geometric pattern in a warm autumnal palette of golden yellow, burnt orange, earthy brown, ivory, and brick red. The design is arranged in horizontal bands, each hosting symmetrical blocks of stylised floral and diamond motifs, framed by contrasting stripes and intricate small-scale patterns. The repeating central panels showcase bold, butterfly-like floral forms flanked by smaller diamond medallions, all woven with crisp, pixel-like precision typical of traditional flatweave techniques. Narrow decorative borders of crosses, chevrons, and stepped patterns separate the main panels, lending a rhythmic architectural structure to the textile. Finished with a fringe on one end, this handwoven piece is a fine example of mid-20th-century Scandinavian craftsmanship celebrated for its balance of functional weaving and modernist folk-art appeal. Its warm colours and clean geometric layout make it equally suited for use as a wall hanging, table cover, or decorative accent in contemporary interiors.
