sheen 1'7" x 1'8"

Size: 1.7 x 1.8 ft.  Origin: Soumak Persia  Circa: 1960s Material: Pure Wool This vintage Persian Soumak kilim rug, finely handwoven with a blend of silk and wool, showcases the signature Soumak flatweave technique with a richly textured surface and detailed embroidery-like patterns that stand out in low relief. The central stepped medallion dominates the ivory field, outlined in bold black and filled with tribal motifs — including stylised animals, geometric forms, and abstract symbols in soft coral, terracotta, gold, and rust tones. These motifs are a nod to nomadic storytelling and protection symbols traditionally woven by tribal artisans. Framed by multiple guard borders, including a delicate star rosette pattern and angular vine motifs, the rug exhibits a harmonious balance of symmetry and spontaneity. The use of silk lends a subtle sheen, elevating its decorative appeal. This kilim is A collectable piece, a functional textile and a vibrant expression of Persian tribal heritage. Authentic vintage and antique Persian kilims are handwoven with silk and wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.
