Vintage Moroccan cape AKHNIF 7'1" x 4'5"

Size: 7.1 x 4.5 Ft. Origin: Morocco Circa: 1950 Material: Pure Wool The "akhnif" is a unique type of burnous, or hooded, woollen cloak exclusively crafted by the Ait Ouaouzguite (Wawzgit) people in the Sirwa region of the High Atlas Mountains. The striking red oculus design serves as a powerful protective motif. These garments are meticulously woven in one piece on a vertical loom by Amazigh (also known as Berber) women and are traditionally worn by men. Authentic vintage and antique Moroccan kilims are handwoven with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind. Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to these rugs' handmade and preloved nature, slight imperfections and flaws are not defects. Our kilims are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life.  Our kilims are professionally cleaned.
