Origin: Indonesia Circa: 1970s Material: Pure Cotton This lovely vintage Indonesian Ikat textile features a striking rhythmic composition woven in deep indigo-black, soft ivory, muted grey and rich crimson red. Horizontal bands are filled with stylised human figures, animals, birds and abstract botanical forms, creating a lively narrative quality across the textile. Repeating figurative motifs alternate with lighter decorative bands, producing a strong graphic contrast while maintaining a beautifully balanced composition. The characteristic blurred edges of the motifs reflect the traditional resist-dyed Ikat weaving technique, while the finely fringed ends complete its handcrafted character.
