Antique Moroccan Berber Saddle Bag 2'4" x 1'2"

Size: 2.4 x 1.2 ft Origin: Moroccan Circa: 1940s Material: Pure Wool This antique saddlebag from the Zaiane region is a true gem. The Zaiane inhabit parts of the Middle Atlas mountain range in Morocco. Their textiles are well-known for their quality, design, and rich palette, which combines naturally dyed handwoven wool. This handwoven flatweave textile features striking geometric panels, intricate tribal motifs, and symbolic diamond medallions rendered in deep indigo, earthy walnut, rust, ivory, and saffron tones. The balanced composition is enriched with traditional protective symbols and finely detailed bands that reflect the artistry and daily life of Caucasian nomadic culture. Originally woven as part of a double-sided storage bag for transporting animals, this rare bagface carries authentic age, texture, and character, a remarkable collectable textile ideal for rustic, tribal, and curated interiors. Authentic vintage and antique bag faces are hand-woven with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind. Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to the handmade and preloved nature of these rugs, slight imperfections and flaws are not considered defects. Our rugs are professionally cleaned.
