Vintage Polish Tapestry Kilim 5'3" x 3'2"

Size: 5.3 x 3.2 ft Origin: Poland Circa: 1950s Material: Pure Wool This delightful vintage Polish tapestry kilim is a striking and expressive example of mid-century European textile art. Handwoven in a flatweave technique, it depicts a charming village scene centred around a tall church tower, surrounded by clustered houses with pitched roofs. The stylised, almost storybook-like composition reflects the strong influence of folk art and modernist design that defined Polish kilims of the period. The palette is warm and harmonious, blending earthy greens, golden yellows, soft greys, and accents of rust and orange, which give the scene depth and a gentle sense of movement. Horizontal bands in the background suggest rolling fields and an open sky, while the simplified architectural forms create a balanced and rhythmic visual flow. Finished with subtle borders and delicate fringe, this kilim carries a naturally aged patina that enhances its character. Decorative yet narrative, it works beautifully as a wall hanging or accent rug, bringing colour, craftsmanship, and a distinctive European heritage into any space. Authentic vintage and antique Polish kilims are hand-woven with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind. Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to these rugs' handmade and preloved nature, slight imperfections and flaws are not defects.
