Size: 11 x 2.6 ft. Origin: Bijar, Persia Circa: 1980s Material: Pure Wool This exquisite Persian Bijar runner rug is a handknotted masterpiece from the Kurdish region of western Iran, celebrated for its remarkable durability and rich artistry. It features an intricate all-over floral and vine motif framed by a classic Herati pattern, centred around two diamond medallions that anchor the composition. The colour palette blends deep indigo, rust red, rose, and ivory tones, creating a sophisticated harmony typical of Bijar weavings. Its dense wool pile and tightly knotted foundation give it a firm, almost carpet-like texture, often called the “Iron Rug of Persia.” This vintage piece exudes timeless elegance, making it a refined addition to both traditional and modern interiors. Authentic vintage and antique Persian rugs are hand-knotted with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and unique. Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to the handmade and preloved nature of these rugs, slight imperfections and flaws are not considered defects. Our rugs are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. Additionally, we recommend using a rug pad with a grippy back to keep your rug in place and smooth out any wrinkles that may have occurred during shipping. A rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug. Our rugs are professionally cleaned.
