These timeless pearl earrings, reminiscent of Johannes Vermeer’s famous painting "Girl with a Pearl Earring," offer a chic and elegant choice. Each pearl is fired with a shiny high fire glaze, and then pearlized. The iridescent finish on the shiny glaze is a pearl luster that is applied and fired for a third time, similar to how we add our gold luster. I love that these are not actually pearls, but are a humble bead of clay that has gone through the rigorous process of creation, sanding, and three separate firings - some over 2,000 degrees.
