Veil Square Pendant

The L&G Veil Square Pendant is all about softness in a world full of hard-edged fixtures. This 22-inch square pendant wraps an integrated LED panel in fabric - actual linen, silk, or cotton - creating this diffused glow that feels more like natural light filtered through curtains than typical overhead lighting. The natural ash wood canopy adds warmth at the top, and the whole thing hangs from a slim conductive cable that keeps the visual weight light despite the substantial 24-inch height. Perfect suspended over dining tables where you want enough light to see your food but not that harsh cafeteria vibe, or in entryways and stairwells where the soft glow creates atmosphere without shadows. The square shape gives it architectural presence that round pendants just don't have, making it feel more like a design element than just a light fixture. What makes the Veil different from most fabric pendants is the integrated LED panel instead of exposed bulbs - you get even, shadow-free illumination at 1000 lumens with that warm 2700K color temperature people actually want to live under. The fabric choices really matter here: linen muslin gives you that relaxed, slightly textured look, custom muslin pleats add dimension and visual interest, while crushed silk brings a bit more luxury and sheen. The LED panel is rated for 50,000 hours, so you're not constantly replacing bulbs or dealing with inconsistent light as they age. It's a low voltage fixture, which means planning ahead for where the power supply lives during installation - either in the electrical box, canopy, or elsewhere per local codes. The 8-foot cable is adjustable on site, so you can dial in the exact height for your space. Dimming requires an ELV or 0-10V compatible dimmer, giving you full control from bright task lighting down to subtle ambient glow. At 8 pounds, it's got substance without needing special ceiling reinforcement. L&G is a Brooklyn studio that approaches lighting like textile art meets functional design. They're working with natural materials - actual wood, real fabric, quality hardware - that bring warmth and texture to spaces in ways metal and glass alone never could. The Veil collection shows their commitment to creating fixtures that soften spaces rather than just illuminate them, understanding that how light moves through fabric creates atmosphere that hard shades simply can't replicate.
