Vanda lamellata

Introducing the stunning Vanda lamellata orchid, a true gem of the tropical regions from the Japanese Ryukyu Islands to the lush landscapes of the Philippines and Malaysian Borneo. With its delicate white flowers adorned with a captivating violet lip and subtle hints of light chocolate, this orchid is a feast for the eyes and the senses. Cultivating the enchanting Vanda lamellata is an experience marked by beauty and gratification. To ensure its optimal growth and blooming, provide it with bright to full sunlight and maintain warm temperatures, mimicking its natural habitat. Whether nestled in a basket or gracefully mounted, this orchid thrives when given ample light and room to climb. As a monopodial climbing orchid, the Vanda lamellata gracefully ascends, utilizing its roots as anchors, reaching heights of up to 70cm. Its V-shaped leaves, growing up to 25cm long and 2cm wide, add a touch of elegance to any space, while its fragrant flowers, borne on elongated racemes, enchant with their delicate aroma. Cultivating Tips: Light: Provide bright, indirect light for optimal growth. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the delicate leaves. Temperature: Maintain daytime temperatures between 70-80°F (21-27°C) and nighttime temperatures around 60-65°F (15-18°C). Humidity: Keep humidity levels around 50-70%. Use a humidifier or place the orchid on a tray filled with pebbles and water to increase humidity. Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of the potting medium feels dry. Allow excess water to drain away to prevent waterlogging. Fertilization: Feed with a balanced orchid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 2-4 weeks during the growing season. Reduce frequency during the dormant period. Potting: Cultivate bare root in a basket or repot every 2-3 years using a well-draining orchid potting mix. Choose a pot that allows for good airflow around the roots. This is a near blooming size imported bare root orchid; newly repotted in a 3" basket; about 2+ years to bloom; Grown from seed; Limited! With its charming blooms and graceful demeanor, the Vanda lamellata is more than just a plant – it's a piece of paradise, ready to adorn your home with its natural splendor. Invite this captivating orchid into your space and let its beauty transport you to exotic landscapes where lush foliage and fragrant flowers reign supreme.
