Valle De'Orcia

This is a commission I just finished for a couple that lived in Italy for 4 years. They gave me photos to work from of their favorite Tuscan villages, and after several sketches, we agreed together on this vantage point and layout. They wanted to capture all of what Italy meant to them.. which was a lot to put in a painting, but I was sooo excited for the challenge. The final result is a Medieval Tuscan village atop the mountain, overlooking the rolling vineyards, and the magical hilltop town of Citita di Bagnoregio off in the distance below. The couple is in the foreground drinking a glass of wine. They were over the moon thrilled to put this in their home. It came out better than I could have ever imagined. ❤️😊🙏 What else is better than your very own personalized painting? ☺️ I love doing commissions because it allows me to take a persons most magical memory, encapsulate it in time- and they have it to enjoy forever, each day bringing them back to that most precious memory.
