Vail 13×8 – Gray

A Contemporary Sunroom Flooded with Natural Light The Vail 13×8 is unlike any other structure in the Westview catalog. Where every other Westview model uses an opaque Duraflex roof, the Vail features translucent Lexan Thermoclear polycarbonate roof panels that allow abundant natural light to pour through the ceiling. The effect is dramatic: the interior of the Vail feels like a sunroom rather than an enclosed shelter. Daylight fills the space from above and from the sides, creating an open, airy environment that is fundamentally different from what a standard opaque-roofed gazebo provides. The Vail features gray Durawood walls that deliver a sleek, contemporary look well-suited to modern homes, minimalist landscaping, and urban backyards. The neutral gray tone pairs naturally with concrete patios, composite decking, and stone hardscaping. Lexan Thermoclear Roof: Virtually Unbreakable and Snow-Shedding The Lexan Thermoclear multiwall polycarbonate roof is the engineering centerpiece of the Vail collection. Lexan is 10 times stronger than glass, virtually unbreakable, and lightweight. It provides excellent thermal insulation while blocking harmful UV rays. The vaulted gable roofline allows snow and ice to slide off naturally — one customer reported that their Vail weathered an ice storm and 90 mph winds with no damage, noting that snow loads simply slide off the angled roof. The high-tech coating on the polycarbonate panels ensures condensation is carried away from the interior, minimizing water droplets. Durawood: Maintenance-Free Synthetic That Looks Like Wood The Vail’s wall panels are constructed from Durawood, a maintenance-free synthetic material with a lifespan up to five times that of natural wood. Durawood looks and feels like real wood but requires no staining, sealing, sanding, or painting. The material is environmentally friendly and handles UV exposure, rain, temperature extremes, and insects without degradation. For homeowners comparing the Vail to Westview’s Ultrawood models, Durawood is a different composite formulation optimized for the Vail and Whistler collections. 13-by-8: A Unique Footprint Sized for Hot Tubs The Vail’s 13-foot-by-8-foot dimensions create a rectangular footprint that is wider than it is deep. Interior dimensions of approximately 11 feet 11 inches by 7 feet 11 inches comfortably accommodate a standard hot tub with clearance for access on the sides and front. The compact depth of 8 feet makes the Vail an excellent choice for homeowners with shallow backyards or narrow side yards where a deeper structure would not fit. The 4-foot-wide double swing door entrance can be placed on any side, providing complete layout flexibility. Easy Assembly, Proven Durability, and Beginner-Friendly Design The Vail 13×8 is consistently described by customers as quick and easy to set up. One customer — a senior citizen with no construction experience — praised the ease of assembly and the exceptional patience of Westview’s customer support team throughout the process. Another reported that their Vail came through an entire winter with flying colors, including sustained use as a sunroom and spa gazebo. Assembly is a one-day project and requires no contractor or construction experience. Optional sliding latchable windows with tempered safety glass are available as an upgrade for all Vail models. This upgrade adds full ventilation control, security, and improved insulation.
