Umpqua UV Hunchback Scud

The Umpqua UV Hunchback Scud is a highly effective nymph pattern specifically tied to imitate the common aquatic crustacean known as a scud or freshwater shrimp, a year-round staple in the trout's diet. This fly is defined by its distinct, heavily segmented, hunchback profile and the inclusion of UV materials that provide an irresistible glow underwater, making the fly highly visible and attractive to trout, especially in lakes and spring creeks. Its weighted design allows it to quickly reach the bottom where scuds naturally dwell, triggering reliable strikes. Umpqua, Nymph, Scud
