Usnea (Usnea barbata) Usnea is a leafless, shrub-like plant that is most commonly used for its ability to boost the immune system, reduce the symptoms of respiratory infections, kill harmful bacteria and viruses in the body, and for its anti-fungal properties. Usnea may reduce phlegm and congestion, and may also act as a mild anti-inflammatory for an irritated respiratory tract. Usnea contains usnic acid, which has very strong antibacterial properties, and may help to fight off infection. 40 drops in water or juice, three times per day, six days per week Shake well before using.
