Impact 7′ Parabolic Umbrella Diffuser

The Impact 7′ Parabolic Umbrella Diffuser is a large shoot-through diffusion panel designed to fit Impact’s 7-foot parabolic umbrella frame, allowing photographers to soften light by shooting a strobe or continuous source directly through the fabric into the subject. Parabolic umbrellas are distinguished from standard shallow umbrellas by their deeper, more curved profile, which concentrates and directs light more efficiently toward the subject while still producing a broad, soft spread. At 7 feet, this diffuser is sized for a large parabolic umbrella frame, offering substantial coverage well suited to full-length portraits, group shots, or situations where a photographer wants to fill a large area with soft, even light from a single source. The parabolic shape, deeper than a standard shallow umbrella of the same diameter, allows the light source to be positioned further back within the umbrella, giving photographers more control over the umbrella’s beam spread and light falloff compared to a standard shallow umbrella diffuser of similar size. As a shoot-through diffusion panel rather than a reflective surface, light from a flash or continuous source is aimed through the fabric, spreading and softening as it passes through toward the subject, producing a broad, wraparound light quality generally softer and less directional than a reflective umbrella setup. This diffusion approach is well suited to photographers who want an expansive, even light spread without the higher contrast that a reflective silver surface would introduce. This diffuser is specifically sized and designed to fit Impact’s 7′ parabolic umbrella frame, so photographers should confirm this panel’s compatibility with their specific umbrella frame before use, since parabolic umbrella diffusion panels are generally not interchangeable with standard shallow umbrella frames due to differences in rib curvature and overall depth.
