Urge IV

Kaws - Urge IV Kaws’ work, Urge IV, is a silkscreen print on paper. This silkscreen is hand-signed by the artist and measures 17x12.7 in. This work depicts a composition of colored gloves covering the face of a light blue character, a distinctive element in Kaws’ style. The gloves, in different colors - white, lilac, light blue and light blue - are drawn with vigorous strokes that emphasize their soft, padded texture. Each glove features an “X” on the back, a trademark of the artist, emphasizing his unique graphic style and the influence of cartoons and street art in his work. This screen print explores themes of anonymity and identity, with the character's face partially hidden by the gloves, suggesting a kind of hide-and-seek game or a desire to remain concealed. The use of bright, contrasting colors adds dynamism to the image, creating an immediate visual impact. Urge IV was made in 2020.
