Urban Worm Biochar | Soil Amendment for Microbes & Nutrient Retention

Supercharge your soil with Urban Worm Biochar, a powerful carbon-rich amendment designed to improve nutrient retention, microbial activity, and long-term soil health. Produced in Maine from recycled wood waste through a high-temperature, low-oxygen process called pyrolysis, this biochar is over 97% carbon and packed with microscopic pores. These pores create an ideal habitat for beneficial microbes while increasing your soil’s ability to hold onto nutrients and moisture. Whether you're building living soil, improving raised beds, or boosting compost performance, biochar helps create a more resilient and productive growing environment. Key Features 97% carbon biochar for long-lasting soil improvement High cation exchange capacity (CEC) for better nutrient retention Provides a dense habitat for beneficial microbes Improves soil structure, aeration, and moisture retention Made from recycled wood waste using sustainable processes Ideal for gardens, raised beds, compost, and soil blends Why Use Biochar? Biochar acts like a sponge for both nutrients and microbes. Its porous structure helps: Hold nutrients in the root zone longer Support beneficial microbial life Improve soil fertility over time Reduce nutrient leaching Enhance plant growth and resilience How to Use For best results, charge your biochar before use by mixing it with compost, worm castings, or a nutrient-rich solution. This allows microbes to colonize the biochar before adding it to your soil. Perfect For Raised garden beds and soil mixes Composting systems and worm bins Improving poor or depleted soil Organic and regenerative gardening Long-term soil building Build better soil from the ground up, pair Urban Worm Biochar with worm castings or Urban Worm Bag composting bin to create a microbe-rich environment your plants will thrive in.
