100% Wheat Berries—Rouge De Bordeaux 1800s heritage wheat

Perfect for milling your own flour at home. This wheat will take you straight back into history with a flavor beloved by our ancestors.  Grown on the family ranch! Nutty, cinnamon hints with the digestibility of heritage variety grain. THE top wheat of 1800s French bread bakers. A flavor straight out of history! Rouge De Bordeaux is a heritage wheat variety that has a nutty, almost cinnamon flavor, and is considered by many to be easier to digest than modern wheat. Stories of its roots in ancient Roman times, where it was then saved by the monks and taken to remote regions of France, leads us to today, where this wheat still exists! And has a brilliant history of being beloved by French bakers throughout the 1800s/1900s.  We are excited to grow this on our Montana ranch/farm. “Lewistown Flour Co.” is our new family venture to grow & mill locally, and share the goodness with all friends of the channel and our small town. Big thanks to Mark in ND for keeping this variety alive & sharing knowledge & seeds! Net weight: 2.5 pounds (40 ounces)
