“Techelet,” Kinneret called to him. “Techelet, your finger is making holes in the sand, lots of holes. A long row.” He ignored her. Three times. Frustrated, she stretched out a finger toward his row, poking the sand and leaving a large hole. “A hole, Mommy,” said Techelet, without looking up. Kinneret exhaled loudly. Techelet raised his head and smiled. Their eyes met for only a moment. That was enough for her. Ruchami slammed the papers on the couch, closing her eyes. A round wall of concrete closed in around her, stifling her in a dungeon of loneliness and despair. You wanted to get out of this cycle. You thought you had broken through the wall and were outside—among normal, ordinary, successful people. So, there you have it. You were wrong. Big time. You’ve been spinning for twelve years inside a thick bubble of illusion. --- Kinneret is used to having things her way. She hasn’t come across a challenge she couldn’t meet. Until her husband, Ben, and her son, Techelet, present her with one she would never have imagined. Can she cross the barrier to join them on the other side? Ruchami, alone in her fight to be “normal,” is confronted with her reality, and struggles to reconcile it with her hopes and dreams. Will she ever break through the glass walls separating her from the rest of the world? --- With keen emotional insight, author Lea Smilanski guides her characters and her readers through profound and painful journeys: labeling and belonging, shame and love, anxiety and acceptance; uniqueness and adaptability, reconciliation and the steady drive to push onward. A book that will leave you with food for thought, as you reflect on the path the Creator has laid out for you. NEW from the author of Hit and Run By Lea Smilanski
